4618 14th Street NW Washington, DC 20009
The Dance Loft on 14 is a space for creativity. Four State of the Art Studios wrapped in 19th century elegance. A black box theater with capacity for both proscenium and theater in the round art. Showers and spacious locker-rooms. Vaulted ceilings and historic gold-leafed cherubs carefully preserved from when DC’s famous architect, Charles E. Wire, designed them in 1923 and presented them to the city as the Park Theater on July 1st, 1924.
The Loft is an interdisciplinary space, a home for actors and musicians; for visual artists; for the professional artist and the novice alike. It is a place to train, a place to rehearse, a place to present, a place to gather and, most important, a place for the Upper 14th Street NW community to call home.
